360-Export: Rendering Maya to Stereo 360º
It’s time to start learning how to render CG scenes as equirectangular stereo-spherical images using Maya! The purpose of the following tutorial is to give you some of the basic knowledge to get you up and running with some results in the least amount of time. While there are other methods for rendering stereo-spherical content, I chose the software I’m using because they currently seem to provide the most turn-key solution.
How to Add Text Hotspots
There are no limits to storytelling. Whether you use verbal narration or choose to let a soundscape or absolute silence flavor your VR atmosphere, creating textual descriptions of your galleries adds a whole new layer of information to the 360º interactive experience.
Change the 360 image Background
You want to update the image uploaded to the background but don't want to loose all the descriptions, hotspots, sound, videos, 2D images, 3D objects... that you have placed in the scene. This option allows you to simply swap the background without impacting the media that you built.
